Trust the process, not the counterparty
The Verifra transaction protocol
Neither side trusts the other; both trust the process. Money is locked before production and released only against physically verified events. Here is the protocol, stage by stage.
Funds are locked before production and released only against physically verified events; a licensed partner holds every penny.
Deal agreed
Buyer & supplier sign PO with protocol terms
- Funds event
Funds locked
Buyer funds partner-held escrow; supplier sees locked funds. Verifra never holds money
Verification
Agent / inspector attends: geotagged video, quantity, spec check, sealed samples
- Funds event
Stuffing supervised
Container loaded under supervision; seal numbers recorded → 30–50% released
- Funds event
Shipment
Bill of lading issued → further release. Logistics milestones tracked (L1–L6)
- Funds event
Arrival + clearance
Cleared → final release. Ratings + Trade Passport records written
What evidence looks like
Every claim in a Verifra report links to a capture like this: geotagged, timestamped, hashed the moment it is taken.

Who holds the money
A licensed partner holds every penny; releases above a threshold need two separate approvals.
Learn more
Not us. Ever. The buyer funds an escrow account operated by a licensed partner. Verifra orchestrates the deal and verifies the physical events; the partner holds and releases the funds. Releases above a value threshold additionally require two separate approvals inside Verifra.
Shipping extends the chain
Shipping milestones slot into the release schedule between shipment and completion.
Learn more
When Verifra handles logistics, each leg's milestones (stuffed, sailed, arrived, cleared, delivered) slot into the release schedule between shipment and completion, so money continues to move only as the goods do.
What completion unlocks
Completion writes Trade Passport entries and opens transaction-verified ratings.
Learn more
A completed deal writes Trade Passport entries for both parties and opens transaction-verified ratings: reputation earned from real, completed trade, not reviews anyone can type.
If something goes wrong
Disputes freeze releases immediately; a stage-linked process works from the captured evidence.
Learn more
Any party can raise a dispute at any stage. Releases freeze immediately and a structured, stage-linked process takes over, working from the evidence captured at each stage.

Common questions
- Does Verifra hold my money?
- No. Escrow accounts are operated by licensed partners. Verifra never holds client funds; we orchestrate the deal and verify the physical events that trigger releases.
- What triggers a release?
- Only verified events reported by the escrow partner's own systems against the agreed release schedule: a supervised stuffing, a bill of lading, cleared customs. No event, no release.
- What do Verifra reports actually say?
- Reports attest observed facts against your own specification under declared standards: what our agent saw, measured and recorded, with the evidence attached. They are statements of observed fact, not promises of outcome.
- What happens if the goods fail verification?
- The protocol stops before further money moves. You decide what happens next (rework, renegotiation or the dispute path) with your remaining funds still locked safely at the escrow partner.
- Which currencies can I use?
- Deals are funded in GBP, USD or EUR through licensed partners, with NGN and GHS collections in Nigeria and Ghana. Currency conversions shown in the app are indicative only, never an executable rate.
