Trade with Nigeria: verified, escrowed, inspected

Nigeria is the largest economy in West Africa and China's biggest African customer, and almost every trade problem Verifra was built to solve shows up here first: deposits paid to suppliers nobody has met, containers that arrive short or wrong, clearing surprises at the ports, and family purchases from abroad that depend entirely on trust in a middleman.

Where Nigerian trade concentrates

Nigerian import and distribution trade is intensely place-based. Containers from Guangzhou and Yiwu discharge at Lagos (Apapa and Tin Can Island are the country's two main container gateways) and their contents fan out through a handful of great commercial cities: Onitsha's Main Market redistributes goods across the South-East and far beyond; Aba manufactures garments, footwear and leather goods that travel the whole region; Nnewi builds and imports vehicle parts; Kano anchors the North. What operating in Nigeria means for your deal

When your counterparty is in Nigeria, verification is not a database lookup. Registry and sanctions checks come first, but Tier B and Tier C verification put an agent physically at the premises: photographing the warehouse, walking the production line, watching the container being stuffed and recording the seal numbers. When you buy into Nigeria, as an importer or from the diaspora, the same physical evidence protects the receiving end: goods inspected before shipment, delivery closed only on your recipient's one-time code and a geotagged photo.

Money never rides on trust. Escrow for Nigerian deals is held by a licensed partner, released in stages only against verified events, with collections and payouts through licensed local payment providers.

Vehicles: the lane Nigeria asks about most

Used vehicles from the UK and North America are a Nigerian institution, and a minefield of odometer stories, hidden accident history and landed costs that balloon at the port.
